Scholarships

Annually FSA provides scholarships administered through three scholarship trust funds at the University of Florida. Recipients are selected on the basis of scholastic achievement and financial need. The Edgar A. Martin Scholarship is awarded to students majoring in Environmental Horticulture, Harry R. Manee, Sr./FSA Scholarship is awarded to students majoring in vegetable crops and the Sam Savage/SSA Scholarship is awarded to students majoring in fruit, vegetable crops or general horticulture. FSA also provides two scholarships for outstanding students at the University of Florida that are matched with funds from the Southern Seed Association (FSA/SSA Scholarship), one in Agronomy and one in Horticulture.

Education

The University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (IFAS) in cooperation with FSA Jointly conduct a two-day seminar presenting the very latest information in seed technology, plant growing, handling, and vital industry news. The well-attended event, popularly referred to as the “Seed School”, customarily features speakers who are recognized industry leaders, outstanding researchers, growers, and governmental regulatory officials.
